if this is a gas furnace, could be a cracked heat exchanger, you could try getting a carbon monoxide detector. you also could go to an allergy dr. and test what your allergic too, or get a blood test to see whats in your system.

Can you give me a couple of suggestions? I'd like to be somewhat informed when I call around.
You can use flex duct, coming from the unit to the hard duct under the house, maybe 4-5' peice, you need to measure ductwork going under house and buy flexduct accordingly. Remove a section of hard duct and replace with flex.

check where the wires are connected to, at your furnace, then write it down and use this to wire the t-stat (what color wire goes to what terminal etc...) you may have to add a common wire

My problem is wiring a thermostat
I installed the Furnance in my garage. There is only 4 wires on the terminal board in the furnance that is connected ( G , R, W1, C )I bought a Honeywell RTH111 Non programmable thermostat.
I understand where to hook up 3 of the new wires coming off of the thermostat, R to R, G to G ,W to W1, But I'm confused with the 4th wire that connects to C. Any help would be much appreciated
this will be your common, check you t-stat to see if it requires a common
