Trane Comfort Link II XL950

Postby mikeperrotto » Thu May 28, 2015 5:00 pm

I just purchased a Trane Comfort Link II XL950 (TZONE 950AC52ZAA) for a Goodman Heat Pump. I'm replacing an older Trane thermostat. Here's my problem, the new Thermostat only has three terminals - D Terminal for Data (Brown Wire) a R - Red Terminal (Hot Wire ) and B Blue Wire (Common). The existing thermostat has the pre-mentioned three terminals plus White, Orange, and Yellow terminals/connection points.

I don't want to disconnect the existing thermostat because I know the unit won't work with connections to all of the terminals. Your advice is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Did this thermostat come with installation instructions? Does this thermostat only work with certain "intelligent" Trane equipment? Google is your friend. Keep your old system as is until you fully understand this thermostat. I have never worked with one. I'm sure you will learn what's needed.
